Rowan's Law - Mandatory Acknowledgement Form prior to Participation
This is an urgent update regarding the legislative requirements under the implementation of Rowan’s Law by the Government of Ontario as implemented under the Ontario Hockey Federation and The Ministry of Tourism and Sport. It is expected that Douro Minor Hockey, it's executive, bench staff, volunteers, parents and players comply to the regulations for the 2019/20 hockey season.

What is Rowan’s Law? Rowan Stringer was a 17-year old Ottawa varsity rugby player who died from sustaining multiple concussions resulting in a catastrophic swelling of the brain – second impact syndrome.  On March 7, 2018, Ontario passed Rowan's Law (Concussion Safety), 2018 and related amendments to the Education Act. However, it is important to understand that this applies to all Sport Organizations, schools, programs and businesses in the province.  This is not a hockey ‘thing’ – it is legislation (Ontario Regulation 161/19) from the Government of Ontario.

Please read the information on Rowan's Law and the legislative requirements using the following link: Rowan's Law

Please read the information below that pertains to the age of the player and than complete the OHF Rowan's Law Acknowledgement Form.  All Coaches, Volunteers, Parents/Guardians and  are asked to complete the form and submit it to a Douro Minor Hockey executive member at the first ice time of the 2019/20 season in September. If needed, hard copies will be available at this time.
